The Full Story

Welcome to my journey!

My name is Ildikó K. Szabó, originally from Hungary, but I have spent most of my adult life living abroad—in Norway (Bergen and Oslo), the UK (London), and since 2021, in Helsinki, Finland. My journey began in nursing, where I learned the importance of care and compassion. While living in London, my path unfolded through real estate and international relocation—fields that deepened my understanding of connection and life transitions. Today, as a Yin Yoga teacher, I bring those experiences together to guide others toward stillness, balance, and self-awareness.

My journey with yoga began in the early 2000s when I came across a short sequence in a magazine. What started as an occasional practice quickly grew into a daily ritual and a lifelong passion. Over the years, I explored a variety of yoga styles including Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa, Bikram, and Dynamic yoga.

It was Yin Yoga, however, that truly transformed my experience. I discovered its gentle yet powerful ability to relax the body, soothe the nervous system, and enhance mental well-being. I found its slower, gentle, longer-held poses and breathing techniques particularly beneficial in my recovery from COVID-19 and Long-COVID. In our increasingly hectic world, I believe Yin Yoga serves as a vital tool for rebalancing and reconnecting—with ourselves and with one another.

Today, I am a dedicated Yin Yoga teacher in Helsinki, Finland, integrating the wisdom of yoga into my daily life and sharing its benefits with others. Drawing on both my professional background and personal journey, I offer a grounded, compassionate approach to practice—helping others find calm, connection, and clarity through the gentle power of Yin Yoga.

Yin and Yang symbolize the dual nature of our physical and mental experiences. Yin encourages stillness and coolness, supporting recovery and rejuvenation. Yang embodies movement and heat, energizing and invigorating the body. To maintain balance and well-being, it’s essential to embrace both elements. In harmony, they create the foundation for a flourishing, grounded life.
